QULOOB UN NUR

Our journey

From a few friends to eleven

Three years, 11 firsts. This is how Quloob un Nur got from a living room in July 2023 to a production of our own at Cape Town City Hall.

    Where It Began

Quloob un Nur was formed in July 2023, beginning simply with a few friends coming together for the sake of Allah, united by their love for nasheed and a desire to use their voices to bring people together.

Just a month later we performed for the first time on the main stage at Cape Town City Hall. The response was overwhelmingly positive and gave us the encouragement to keep building something together.

Later that year we were honoured and blessed to be alongside Khuddam ul-Islam as the first nasheed groups to perform at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, for their 10-year anniversary.

    Growing Together

2024 was a major year of growth for Quloob un Nur.

We hosted our first-ever Salatul Layl programmes during Ramadan, beginning what would become an important part of our journey. We also hosted our first formal event, a gala dinner celebrating our first anniversary.

Throughout the year we continued performing at some of the biggest nasheed events and gatherings, while the support around Quloob un Nur kept growing.

    A Year of Milestones

2025 marked another major milestone in our journey.

We hosted our first-ever Pre-Ramadan Market, creating a new platform for the community to come together in preparation for Ramadan. We also released our first track across all major streaming platforms, “Solaatullah Salaamullah”, taking Quloob un Nur into a new chapter beyond live performances.

Later that year we were honoured to perform alongside Mohamed Tarek during his South African tour at the prestigious Artscape Theatre.

    Light Upon Light

2026 has already been a tremendous year, and it is still underway.

We released our first music video, “Allahu”, along with a Ramadan track, another step forward in our musical journey. We are currently in the studio recording our first album.

One of the biggest moments of the year so far was hosting our first production, “Light Upon Light”, at Cape Town City Hall in May. The turnout and the support from the community were overwhelming. And now 2026 marks another milestone as we launch this website, alongside our first merchandise and apparel collection.
